Is anyone else seeing this error? I haven't seen it at all and no one else has reported it. I investigated the message and repaired the table "phpbb_users". There are hints on the web that this might be spurious so if anyone else sees it please report it. I hope I have fixed it but don't ...

FYI, I keep getting the following error message when I try to access the site. I wasn't able to view the site for almost a week. Not sure what it means or why it sorta works now (still getting the error, but have some functionality). I didn't know where to put this; hope it's ok to post this here. T...

Bonnaroo Webcast Recorded...

...and I'll even share. :P I was able to record the audio (unfortunately not the video too) off the webcast. It was fairly flat sounding, so I gave it a bit of a tune up and it sounds pretty decent. A few of the songs ended up with glitches, drop outs, etc but overall it's not too bad at all. Here's...

The Sharpest Thorn (is it me or does the first line sound a lot like the first line of Tramp the dirt down?) I don't know about that, but there is something about it that brings Country Darkness to mind. Hmm. I kind of felt a bit of "Any King's Shilling" in "The Sharpest Thorn"....

Rozy from listserv says: Had a blast last night!! Actually got 2 shows between the hours-long soundcheck and the show itself. NBC wasn't covering EC particularly, as it turned out. They were doing promo for the whole series of shows at the casino. No explanation for the poor ticket sales. The forma...

Not sure if this really fits the thread, but...I found a version of "PLU" on YouTube performed by Chris Cornell, formerly and most notably of Soundgarden. I have a special fondness for Soundgarden as they peaked during my high school years. I found them to be the best of the "grunge&q...

... how to cut the "non-essential" part of the Letterman show out of the .avi file ... I've used TMPGENC for this sort of thing, but be warned, the output will be MPG and there may be some loss of quality in the transcoding. I know the hierarchy, so to speak, of the various qualities of a...

Just curious if anyone knows how to cut the "non-essential" part of the Letterman show out of the .avi file that was torrented, leaving just the Elvis portion. I've tried using Nero and Adobe with no success. Thanks to anyone who can solve this riddle.

I'm changing my earlier declaration of best song from "The Sharpest Thorn" and/or "Six-Fingered Man" to "All These Things." This, of course, is subject to change upon my next listen.

Nice performance by El, Allen, and the Imps. Not sure where Nieve's hair went?! A nice touch was Allen and the band, coming back from a commercial break, playing "You Are So Beautiful" in memory of Billy Preston who just passed away. Anyway, I'll wait until the Left Coasters get a ...

Jagger never lets Keith go ahead with a riff outside his range though. There's a lot of EC songs through the years that I would have preferred in a lower register, because it IS straining sometimes. Little Palaces is a really good song, for instance, but I hate Elvis's whine on most of it. Sometime...

The video that was posted to DIME is fantastic. The footage of El and his pops is priceless. And yes, there is sort of a resemblance to Fidel in that shot, but why mention that? It's kind of amusing how the British press demonstrates the very snobbishness that Elvis loathes. Good for Elvis firing ba...

I think people have been overall supportive of his efforts. I know a couple of people have offered their assistance, aware that it was a first-time attempt. There are a few a-holes on DIME, as there are anywhere, who were pretty obnoxious - but most people were appreciative. Now if we can just get t...

It is a pretty rough recording. There hasn't been a good one from that venue yet. I was on my way to a decent one until security communicated their disapproval of my efforts. I don't believe another recording exists.

I'd love to see this show posted on Dime... 1991-07-29, Barcelona, Spain, Velodroma de Horta, with the Rude 5 [/b] (mainly 'cause I don't have shows from Spain...) :-) The quality of this show is questionable from what I recall - but that hasn...

Create a trade list on Elvis Costello Wiki

As many here are likely aware, the terrific elviscostello.info homepage has been transitioning to a wiki format. This means you can create an account and edit pages there. One section of the wiki allows users to create a trade list right on the website - or link up to your trade list if you have one...
