Favorite Pete Thomas drum moments

Chelsea, especially the beginning.

No Action, especially the fade-out.

EC - why so many rereleases

Why did they rerelease most of ECs albums on Ryko, and then again on Rhino, and now again with no bonus tracks? Few artists rerelease their albums so many times.

What is the idea of the latest series? Isn't it exactly the same as the very first CDs except for the packaging??

EC with Green Day

I didn't realize till now that EC did two songs with Green Day (link below), Alison and No Action. I really that version of No Action. I've been listening to Green Day for 13 years and never appreciated Billie's voice until now. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVOLCKGj0qs&feature=related Did they...

Strict Time

I really like this song. Isn't the beat from some old songs from the 50s??

True Love Ways?

What does EC write about his cover of TLW? I don't have the CD.

Thanks

American Without Tears

What is this song about? It seems to be about people who fell in love during WWii. But why does the narrator sing about New Orleans?

This book has tons of spelling errors. He spells Ronstadt as Rondstadt, etc.

I just finished the Graham Thomson book. What Attractions conflicts were there, besides the ones in this book? I haven't read the Big Wheel. EC in his later years said Bruce Thomas is "unbearable."

Couldn't Call It Unexpected No. 4

This is my last favorite EC song. People have said (like Thomson) that the production is wrong, made it sound like a circus. I prefer the live version on an EP although it is too slow. People have complained about the production on MLAR and I think it is rather thick but does not totally kill the al...

Bruce Thomas the kung fu master

I was surprised to read in the Thomas book that Bruce likes martial arts and even wrote a book about it. I found the book at the link below. Is Bruce really good at fighting?? http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=30318290&SearchEngine=Froogle&SearchTerm=30318290&Type=PE&Category...

DVD commentaries

I rented the DVD and got the subtitle commentary by pressing the Subtitle button. But is there an audio commentary? If I press the Audio button, nothing happens, as if there is only the one audio track. Some people were talking in the bigger thread as if there is an audio commentary as opposed to th...

Re: Rhino re-re-releases

Does EC know Bob Geldof? Have they worked together? Well EC sang at Live Aid so I expect they know each other. I'm not sure if they've "done lunch" and want to do a project together. I just read (in the Thomson book) that the Rats were with Elvis when he announced his new name would be El...

Cait joins the Tetras , April 2023

What's going to happen to Cait now that Elvis has married Diana Krall? Maybe she'll shoot her dog, and she once sang. She looks so cute in the photo in the new EC book.

Can you recommend any Krall albums?

EC and the Bangles

It said in the new book (which I found at the library yesterday - YAY) that the Bangles went onstage with Elvis in 1986. Did anyone here see that? Of course EC recently wrote Doll Revolution which the Bangles covered. The Bangles just played LA and are now going to Australia. There is no need to pan...

Attractions problems

What was the nature of the conflict between the Attractions and Elvis? I know there is a book about it but I can't find it. Elvis later commented that Steve Nieve "certainly can't write." Did you like the Attractions album? I liked it except for the singing which was terrible. Elvis covere...

EC and Graham Parker

Do you know if Elvis knows Graham Parker? They both had the same producer (at times) and the same manager. Of course their voices are similar. I have a great GP CD called Ultimate Collection. He wrote some great songs. He was a little like Van Morrison in his earlier days. His albums weren't very so...

Rhino re-re-releases

The only Rhino EC CD I have is Get Happy!! and it's incredible. Does someone have scans/text from the other Rhino CDs on web pages? I'm cheap, I suppose, but they cost $15, plus hey, the Boomtown Rats have their liner notes on their site. And for EC trivia buffs: one of their booklets was written by...

New Amsterdam

EC said this song is about being new in America. But it mentions a "she" - or is she a symbol for America? N.A. was the old name for New York, and Amsterdam is in Holland, hence the jokes about Double Dutch. EC played all the instruments on this song. I like the rolling bass part during th...
