Re: Elvis & The Time Jumpers Station Inn Nashville Feb 22 2010

And for the love of me, I can't find the artist or song that Elvis sang a track on this artists album -- it was within the last 5 or 6years. It was some hillbilly bluegrass/country artist. Heard it on public radio and was blown away. Anyone know who that might be? Wish I could find it. You might be...

Apparently he and I were eating lunch in restaurants that were right next to each other. Dang! Should've gone with sushi over Tex-Mex today.

Re: Grammy nominations

You guys really think that Elvis will win for best CF album? Don't get me wrong, I think it was a great album, but Neko Case put out a hell of a record, and if I had to guess as to who will actually win I'd bet Steve Earle. And also, what's up with Wilco being nominated for best AMERICANA album? Onc...

I saw it on eBay for ten times what it cost in the store yesterday, but nothing today.

Re: Elvis debuting new recording on 7" vinyl

The 7" is in. Well, at least it's in my local store. I just bought it.

"Dirty Rotten Shame" is nice, I like it. Actually, I really dig it.

It's pure Americana/folk. I can easily imagine Emmylou singing it.

I haven't been able to find the vinyl, and no one seems to know when it will be available.

I wonder where it's being pressed...probably Nashville if I had to take a guess.

Re: Rolling Stone...where did all the good tickets go?

It's awful. I wish that ebay wouldn't allow people to scalp tickets for such high prices. Last year I tried to get tickets to see Wilco at the Ryman, and I got on the second tickets went on sale and I got shut out. The SECOND they went on sale. I went straight to ebay and saw front row seats for $25...

Re: Costello "official" website

Also, here's an interesting article about CD Baby. Even though everyone else in the CD department experienced losses, they grew in 2008. Like I said, I think that CDs will just shift to the indie market.

Re: Costello "official" website

I didn't believe it either when I was initially told this, but the person who told me (who works at a major label) insists that it's true. I said "but this would be commercial suicide - up to 90% of many new releases are sold on CD" and they said "the industry is so scared of downloa...

Re: Costello "official" website

The way the music business is going there may be no more physical releases of albums within a year or two in the USA on major labels - most big stores in the US are cutting their CD inventories down to zero, and the major record companies in the USA are meekly going along with this and will stop ma...

I wonder what "slightly delayed" means? They won't get there until later in the DAY? Or does this mean that they're going to miss "Record Store Day" completely?? So these will just be regular 7" singles that will show up in a bunch of stores later that week or month?? I thi...

Elvis Costello & The Sugarcanes 6/16 Nashville

I follow the Ryman Auditorium on Twitter, and about an hour ago they posted this:

NEW: Elvis Costello & The Sugarcanes (J Lauderdale/J Douglas/J Taylor/M Compton/S Duncan/D Crouch) - 6/16 @ 7:30 pm - on sale 4/3 @ 10 am

It's not on their site, but I'm pumped.

Thank you all for the links! They really helped with my first project. Elvis Costello's publicist?

Hey, I've looked all over the internet, and I can't find out who Elvis' publicist is. It may sound weird, but it's my homework assignment (I'm taking a PR in the Music Industry class). I had to choose one celebrity to keep up with over the semester, and I figured that no one would be better than Elv...
