Re: Elvis & The Imposters play 'Beaver Creek Hike to the Mic', Avon, CO, 16 Sept. 2017

I notice the ladies are wrapped up against the chill but, for once, Elvis doesn't seem to be taking any precautions to protect his throat -he obviously knows he won't be singing to an audience again in 2017

Re: Mystery songs on ASCAP site

For those with the vaguest of interest in the "Star Wars Saga" , I can confirm that the last forum meetup at the Roundhouse gig in London did indeed provide more than a passing resemblance to the "Cantina Scene" in SW4 A New Hope, featuring Verbal as Hans Solo !

Re: Glasgow 13 October 1977

As I've said before, I'm sure that there must be a large number of uncirculated shows out there somewhere, either Ines people have recorded and kept to the themselves or professional ones deemed unsuitable . The Rhino reissues were great but I got scared that the same old shoes would come up rather ...

Re: So Far Richard Groothuizen book for sale

KRM wrote From the era of handwritten letters and cassettes. Oh, the excitement of posting off a parcel and then waiting for a reply. I bought loads of Elvis' shows on cassette from someone who signed himself "Jake" in the early 80s and they came with a unique handwritten insert. I also go...

Re: Glasgow 13 October 1977

Thanks, KRM, what you say makes a lot of sense ! I'm just surprised that GTTM definitely lists a 12 song show in Glasgow which seems impossible to prove. I know there are enough of us out there who will be able to keep our fingers on the pulse. As there's a fair amount of discussion circulating abou...

Re: Glasgow 13 October 1977

Thanks, Dave - I wonder where the info comes from sometimes for the setlists for the wiki. I'm not doubting the integrity of those who submit them but I thought I was in touch with all the major collectors of live material and then these variations crop up !
Does Martin have any info on this, John ?

Glasgow 13 October 1977

I'll be uploading the recording of his show nearerthe time but , on investigation, I've discovered my recording only had 10 songs and lacks the last 3 as listed on the wiki . Does anyone have a recording of the complete show that I could beg, borrow or steal ?

I can only see 5 gigs listed on the wiki that have Sad About Girls and none of them are from the Scandinavian tour of 1980 - where did you get your list from ? I do have the Linkoping andStocholm shows, I'll send you whichever sounds best soon

Radio Clyde archive

Did anything ever become of the Radio Clyde archive which I think was discovered and the prospect of rare items being released in 2003 ? There was talk of sessions and live concerts being made available through Universal but I've not seen anything from any group since that time . I wondered how many...

So Far Richard Groothuizen book for sale

I've just been informed by the seller that a copy of this book is available on eBay. At my recommendation, it has a starting bid of £19.99, I believe and I thought it was worth at least that due to its rarity and the fact that the money goes to a deserving charity - helping with children's poverty. ...

Re: Alternate "My Aim is True" w/ Attractions ?

Cornwall Coliseum, St Austell 11th October 1984

Just found this poster for the show in the now demolished Cornwall Coliseum . I made a great recording of this show with my first ever portable cassette recorder- how I wish I'd kept my ticket ! There's lots of details about this venue at the website for Kernow ( Cornwall) Best !

only 4 years later with those pics  Interesting to see how close to the gymnasium wall the band appear to be sited - the recording I have isn't as booming as one might expect. This mini tour in June 1983 is one that seems to be less well documented than almost anything Elvis did in the 70s and...
