Re: Relatively Insignificant EC Stuff. . .

Elvis Costello and The Attractions, Olympia Theatre, July 1994: A brilliant gig, but the best thing about it was that I didn't have to go to Féile to see them – I hate muck, queueing and portaloos. Not The Attractions , it was The Rude 5 , in 1991 , not 1994. http://www.elviscostello.info/wiki/inde...

I remember hearing Bruce’s bass on Human Hands in IB and thinking they’d double tracked him abs then heard him play it live at Shepherds Bush in 1994 and being dumbfounded at his virtuosity abs technique !

Re: Elvis at Montclair Literary Festival, online, April 6, 2021

i would imagine at least a couple songs together, right? My guess is that the nature of Zoom will prevent anything 'together' live unless they've done a pre-recorded stitched together thingy, like the epic 'What's So Funny' recently. EC's contributions to Steve's Imobile Tour pieces with SN trying ...

Isn't that Pete's daughter Tennessee next to him in the video clip ? I love watching her laughing throughout the "Monkey To Man" video - she's obviously got her Dad's sense of humour as well as his drumming talents !

Re: "La Face de Pendule à Coucou" EP (French versions of Hey Clockface songs)

I think 'thin', if you stick to the butter metaphor, implies that there is a lot of output ... This project isn't Elvis'. It's an attempt to generate some income, particularly for the Nieve family. Anyone genuinely begrudge Steve some income ? No one's forcing yo to buy it after all! Ah, that old c...

Re: "La Face de Pendule à Coucou" EP (French versions of Hey Clockface songs)

I have to say, I don't think it's 'thin' at all. I think it's new and exciting stuff. Experimental, challenging, interesting, and well worth a listen. I honestly don't know any other artist who, at 66, is still interested enough in music - or in their own music - to be even doing this. You want 'th...

Apart from Verbal's tablets-of-stone definitive version, I defo agree "Lists? shimshts!", in general. But I have to say MLAR's placing is way out of order! Get aahtah my pub!!! And controversionally, I almost never listen to My Aim Is True, and would rank it bottom 10! It worries me that ...

It finally ended up here in Sweden as well. Thanks to new political situation, there was an added customs fee for the package as well. (€15 if you´re interested). Will not buy records from UK from now on. Looks and sounds interesting. Will play it tonight. You could always ask a friend in the U.K. ...

Re: Do you have a favorite EC concert?

I was sharing some memories with another forum member about the gig at Hemel Hempstead Pavilion 40 years ago tonight. It was only my 3rd Elvis gig after seeing two lacklustre performances in Birmingham, one only days earlier where he had gone through the motions, one encore and off. Now more than 7...

Ditto, en route to Chicago. And to the home of the Pilgrim Fathers ! Never heard that expression before. I think we just call them pilgrims in the states. Definitely a phrase employed here 15 miles north of Plymouth! With regards to the album, I played one side during dinner with my wife and her co...

40 years ago today I attended my second ever Elvis Costello concert at the Great Hall at Exeter University in Devon.
