Re: Face in the Crowd - London premiere!

If the press night is on sale, that'll be the perfect night for us to descend! For those who haven't been, the Young Vic has great sight lines all round - even the cheap seats have a good view! PICS: https://www.google.com/search?sca_esv=c61a3541004a5e3a&rlz=1CAMMGG_enGB1056GB1056&sxsrf=ACQV...

No, apparently it's just his box of tricks that he uses on his tour at the mo!

A Town Called Riddle

Does anyone know anything about this song?

I've never heard it and can't find it on YouTube as a fan vid.

What's the style? He does it as an opener on the current tour, so I'm guessing it's a rocker (would be rare to open with a ballad).

Re: Elvis’s songs in stage adaptation of the movie “Cold War”

I hope Revolution 49 is not in the musical! Must remind myself of Zula's song - Clockface has been off my radar since 'Boy Named If' blasted it clean off the face of the earth!

Re: Karen Oberlin sings Elvis, London, 23 and 24 June

Karen was great, even though she did fumble quite a few of the lyrics! Man Out of Time Shipbuilding Beyond Belief Everyday I Write the Book Aubergine Almost Blue Shouldn't You Keep That to Yourself Mistress and Maid (with her son) I'm in the Mood Again God Give Me Strength Shot with His Own Gun Bloo...

Re: "Long shot of that jumping sign"

lyric always gave me the impression of a "No Jumping/Diving" sign at the water's edge or on a bridge. Oooh sounds feasible! I wondered if it was one of those signs hung in a frame, like a traditional pub sign, therefore it could be jumping in the wind. But it would really be swinging, not...

"Long shot of that jumping sign"

...but does anyone know what a 'jumping sign' is?

It's only just struck me, 45 years after the song's release!

What a genius! Loved Burt, the stuff with Hal David but also a lot of the stuff with Elvis - loads of it, in fact. Can't wait to hear their newest stuff. A long life, filled to the brim with amazing songs.

Re: New album for 2023: Songs of Bacharach and Costello

Okay, am definitely interested! Yes, it is a bit confusing as we already have PFM and the Look Now songs. I love the idea of a Burt/Elvis album of songs sung by other artists. I love the idea of a Burt/Elvis album of new songs we haven't yet heard, sung by Elvis. I love the idea of an album of Burt ...

Re: New album for 2023 announced!

Wow, this is VERY exciting when you consider how fantastic 'Boy Named If' is!!! 'Very different' - what on earth could that mean? I do recall that Elvis talked about doing an album of joyful music, or happy songs - this was sometime time near the start of the lockdowns. Could it be a 'Get Happy' tha...

Re: Elvis & The Imposters, Hammersmith Apollo, London, June 23, 2022

I kind of agree about the Hammersmith gig. I was very distracted that night by some personal issues elsewhere in my life, so my mood wasn't great and might have clouded my night a bit - but I did find the set less exciting than usual. I think as others have said, those long bluesy songs are not what...
