I think it's safe to say that this means they're the only dates so far announced for 2018.

Re: ATUB Font on cover

No idea what that font is, I'm afraid - the CD sleeve says that the design is by Steve Averil and Patrick Swan for ABA. So if you're really determined, you could do an Internet search for them and get in touch.

Re: Elvis song taught at 'O'-level?

I had a vague memory that it was (a) 'You'll Never Be a Man', (b) set by one of the Scottish examining boards; and (c) centred on the (admittedly strong) line 'don't want to be first, I just want to to last'. First 'New Lace Sleeves', now this: claims are flying left right and centre. Well, I love ...

Re: Elvis song taught at 'O'-level?

Sulkington, that's how rumours start! Ah - New Lace Sleeves! That's more like it - there's more to get your teeth into there. Though I don't think even as a swot in English that I could say what it all means. But it certainly conveys a massive sense of cynicism about people and the reasons they marr...

Re: Elvis song taught at 'O'-level?

Blimey, really? Such an obscure track - but I don't dislike it. It's like 'Dissolve', 'Daddy Can I Turn This', 'Beaten to the Punch', 'Button my Lip' - a really noisy rocker that he likes to slip in now and again. (And when I think of it, I always want to start singing "At the Arrivaderci Roma ...

Elvis song taught at 'O'-level?

Does anyone remember the rumour that an Elvis song lyric was taught in English lessons in the early 1980s?

Is it true, and if so, what was the song?

Re: Mystery songs on ASCAP site

Google translate says - 'Goodbye Paris (Star Wars)' . Something for the next film in that franchise? Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens on Dec. 17th 2017 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wars:_The_Last_Jedi No way - they never have songs in the Star Wars films. How cool would it be, though! Bond film...

Re: What will bring 2017?

I think all we can bank on now is that song from the Annette Bening film. It's released on 17 November, and if Mary McCartney has done the video, I presume there's some desire to push the song - and that means Radio 2.

Yes, the new song is called 'You Shouldn't Look At Me That Way'. Shades of 'You Little Fool'? ("Don't look at me that way - you know it isn't right")

V excited to hear these. His people need to seriously target Radio 2 to make the 'A side' a hit. Elaine Paige on Sunday often plays songs from films, and we know Jeremy Vine is a big Elvis fan.

Hmmm... Either Elvis has written songs with Paul Simon or he's contributing a track to a Graduate tribute soundtrack covers album. The Graduate film shares a 50th birthday with Sgt Pepper this year. Whaddaya reckon?!
