Re: Relatively Insignificant EC Stuff. . .

A friend of mine just sent me a message saying he had bought Spike and Mighty Like Rose in a charity shop for 50p each. He had never heard them before but so far he had enjoyed "a song about God and something about chewing gum" - he was half way through Spike. I was almost jealous of him h...

The merchandising has gone a bit mad. Mind you, I am sure Sulky, Verbal or T. Balcony could do with a Clockface pencil case!

All is fine in MikeH towers, too. Working for the local authority and dealing with social care we are busier than ever and working from home. Could it be a classic album together with live versions from different years? So a live version of the album. Has that been done before?

Great to meet up with Sulky and Sulky jr. How that young man resisted the Elvis tea towel is beyond me. Great show and the backing singers were thrilling. Funnily enough, She was a highlight for me along with Clubland and Tears.

Re: Relatively Insignificant EC Stuff. . .

The recent death of Bruce Forsyth, the UK beloved entertainer, reminded me that when I went to the book launch of EC's autobiography at the Royal Court theatre in Liverpool, board member Top Balcony asked a question about EC's many appearances at that theatre and if he had any special memories. Elvi...

Re: Relatively Insignificant EC Stuff. . .

I went to see Al Stewart last night with Tim Renwick on guitar. Tim is connected tenuously to the EC story having been in Quiver with Bruce, in Steve Nieve & the Playboys (the house band on the Jonathan Ross chat show) and he played on the Attractions album Mad About the Wrong Boy. Bruce also pl...

There is a link between Bruce's earlier books and Manchester United. I seem to remember that Cantona did a good Bruce Lee impression

Re: South Bank Show: "The Making Of Almost Blue" - High Definition airing, August 17 2016

Such a shame they didn't show the whole programme. It was a brave and potentially career destroying decision by Elvis but a great album. I would have liked to know what the Attractions' reaction was when he told them. Though they seemed to be enjoying the adventure.
