Elvis foreword to Dan Hicks book, April 2017

"Elvis Costello and Tom Waits are among the guests on Dan Hicks & The Hot Licks' new album 'Beatin' The Heat'. Hicks formed The Charlatans, the original '60s psychedelia band of that name. Out on July 14, it's his first new album since 1976 and also stars Bette Midler and Brian Setzer"

I think mine must've been a Bros or Chesney Hawks (sp?) tape. I do remember totally loving the Gene Pitney and Marc Almond one (I forget what it's called). Oooh, and the Bee Gees' You Win Again  . Hahahaha. The music I remember being played in the house was my dad's vinyl of The Northern Beat ...

Elvis spotted again

My Elvis pal (see dream thread) has just told me he saw Elvis in the Studio Bar on Dale Street, Liverpool city centre. The drunk bastard (pal, not EC) neglected to phone me. That is sooooooooo weird, me having my Elvis dream last night and all.

He's in the UK for something....

The loop from WIWC no.2 (y'know, the "Um" bit) began playing on some foodie programme I was watching a few months ago on the BBC. I think that was the same night I also heard Accidents on some other programme.

Official Elvis dreams thread

I think I had my first ever EC dream last night -- not that interesting but an EC dream anyway. To cut a long story short, my Elvis pal and I were having coffee in my fave little cafe (now sadly closed - poo). I don't remember how Elvis ended up sitting at our table after he came in, but he did. We ...

I have no idea if this one's been used before. It's one of my all-time fave pics of Elvis:http://www.cbgb.com/shrine/photos/New_Folder/BGR-2.jpg
I have a gorgeous framed 20"x16" print of this hanging in my living room. My pride and joy.

I remember coming home from school at 3.30pm in the depths of winter and it was already getting dark. We're at that time now where it doesn't start going dark until 10pm. Love it. It's even better when the sun begins to rise at 4am.

I got TYM as a b/day prezzy and was very disappointed with the bonus disc. Much as it's nice to have, I was more impressed with the bottle of Belvedere vodka that came with it. How cool is that for a present - This Year's Model and a bottle of Belvedere?!

That's a lovely picture, SoL. Bournemouth? It looks like southern Spain.

DrJ, that picture looks like a CCTV screen capture. Have you been hanging around the posh cars again? Just kidding. Very nice.
