I agree with Neil about a) getting used to deliberate musical quirks on track 1 thus moving nicely into next 10 songs finishing with 'All these things' ... b) I still do not get tracks 12 & 13 ... c) the advantage of CD/nice people sharing Japanese-only bonus etc is that one can play tracks fini...

All things considered (!), for me this is the most exciting EC album etc in 20 years.

Bob Dylan seems to have first started performing this mid-1980s which is when I first came across on Bootlegs this Toussaint song - it has never been officially released, but there are many versions available on e.g. interweb ...

Yes, another sad departure - first came across him/them a few years ago when hunting down Maddy Prior 'rarities'(she's on a coupla tricks of his/their 'Diving For Pearls' 1986 album)...

I bought the 32 min DVD version mainly to hear 'What ...' and to convert the 1 min 51 secs depicted (including intro...) to WAV/mp3 (something I did too with the Toussaint 'solo' instr. 41 secs 'Sweet Georgia Brown'. I am happy to have spent c. £7 more in real shop on DVD version than price at play...

On my computers/browsers the 'Where is the love' does not show on Elvis Costello shop main page until I looked on next page where I saw/bought it - thanks.

Oddly enough, my wife likes TRIR, and she hasn't expressed like for any of Mr Costello's albums since 'Almost Blue'! Before I commit myself to about $40+ on amazon.com or ebay.com for Japanese-only release with extra track 14 'The greatest love', is there anyone please who might post e.g. to Yousend...

Not surprisingly as yesterday in UK was 'Bank Holiday' my on-line ordered TRIR with DVD didn't arrive, so I cancelled and bought it/them in real shop for £2 more. Apart from probably starting to like quite a bit of CD (not convinced by 2 tracks positioned after stand-out 11th though...) I enjoyed 3...

I quite like the 13 tracks now, possibly the more so because Costello's musically trained voice of past few years often sounds 'all over the place' which I prefer. The sound of instrumentation etc IMO bounces beautifully out of loudspeaker-system - I await appearance of Japanese 14th track on Soulse...

In truth, I cannot envisage wishing to play basic 13-track CD/vinyl more than about twice 'for reference' (apart from latest version of 'Blood And Chocolate' 2002...

I thought that after not good (Hasselbaink never wins proper trophy ...) Midden 1st half that ref should have given pen. for equaliser. Sevilia too had a couple of good Bras. Ray Parlour should have played.

Despite some perceived 'iffy' sounds as described above, I now like my CD of this fun/appreciated 2004 concert-thang. I still have not played 'Ill Soggy' extracts, as I am happy enough occasionally to play original 'full' 2004 CD. So far, I have been fortunate enough not to find 'River In Reverse' ....

I heard 'Surprise' yesterday and did not like it first-play.
