He looks like a premonition of Bono six years down the line.

There's nothing 'late' about Al Kooper, thankfully. He's still very much alive.

Prefab Sprout new album

I'm sure there must be a few Prefab Sprout fans on the board. If so, there's some interesting news about a new album in September. I must admit I thought they were defunct, but apparently not, according to this blog: http://www.ishotamaninrenobook.blogspot.com/

Re: REVIEWS: Secret, Profane and Sugarcane

http://www.sundayherald.com/arts/arts/display.var.2512870.0.0.php Secret, Profane And Sugarcane (Universal) ELVIS Costello now conducts his career almost entirely off-Broadway, down a warren of alleys, side streets and paths less trodden. Here he takes a charmingly old-fashioned stroll through the A...

Re: Elvis on One show next week

I thought he looked old, tired and rather.... frail: not a word I'd ever associate with Elvis normally. Seemed a bit hesitant and 'out of it,' too. Jet lag, maybe?

Good to see him on prime time BBC though, even if the buffoons on the show didn't have a clue what to do with him!

Patsy was born in 1968, so surely he jests. However, she was born in Hounslow, Middlesex - and EC certainly lived there back in the 70s, so perhaps he just is referring to that in his own suspicious way. They went to the same secondary school, but at different times (mid-to-late 60s for Dec, 70s/80...

VG, writing to a paper to suggest that they have been foolish enough to fall for a stunt that has worked "a treat" suggests a certain admiration for EC's words. I don't want to put words in anyone's mouth - I'm just amazed at the amount of slack a lot of you cut Elvis. I think he has embar...

Elvis has left the country Sir: As a long-time Costello fan I'm glad to see you've "bought" his latest comments about not liking England etc ("Goodbye, cruel UK", 8 November). As always, he knows just the right thing to provoke a reaction and once again it's worked treat. But wh...

By the way, have you heard about a decent biography about Elvis ? Try 'Complicated Shadows'. Patchy in places, but by far the best and the most authoratative out there, and has lots of stuff that's not on the net: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Complicated-Shadows-Music-Elvis-Costello/dp/1841956651/ref=pd...
