Re: EC & The Imposters w/Allen Toussaint Bonnaroo 2006 - Vid

Ha, I think this is from a dvd I made from the webcast a couple of years ago -- I had to splice in the audio from another recording during the intro to Broken Promise Land because they cut out EC's political comments (and curse). I remember also having to edit in a section during the solo on Who's G...

connor,

Like ba posted above, http://www.elusivedisc.com still has the ep in stock for $6.99. I got my copy from them, and have ordered from them many times over the years, always with exceptional service.

I'm just jumping into this fascinating thread, and haven't seen any tangential threads, so forgive me if I'm missing anything relevant and/or getting off-topic, but I just had to reply to Christopher calling out "Red Cotton" -- I know that Barnum is a rather unsympathetic character, but I ...

Re: Elvis and the Sugarcanes, Massey Hall, Toronto, 28 Aug 2009

I was lucky enough to catch two of the Sugarcanes shows (the Ryman in Nashville and Chautauqua, NY), and they were unbelievable. I really hope Elvis will take the show to your side of the pond next year, John, because the recordings, even as good as the Massey Hall radio recording is, don't *begin* ...

Spectacle (Season One) Blu-Ray/DVD release - 11/10/09 Canada

This website -- http://www.releaselists.com/index.html -- in it's August 3, 2009 update lists a Canadian Blu-Ray release of the first season of Spectable. The listed release date given is November 10, 2009. A quick check on Amazon.ca confirms this -- along with a DVD counterpart -- as both are curre...

Re: Elvis doing public interview, Nashville Mon. June 15 '09

I was lucky enough to catch the interview at the Country Hall of Fame. Lasted about an hour and 15 minutes and then Elvis adjourned to the Museum Shop for an autograph session. Not surprisingly, the bulk of the questions were about how Elvis got into listening to country music and how it influenced ...

Re: Elvis Costello & The Sugarcanes 6/16 Nashville

Just going by memory, Spooky's setlist looks pretty close, but weren't the last two songs reversed? Seems like Changing Partners was the last song of the night. Also, in Alison he threw in several lines of I'll Make It All Up To You, in addition to He'll Have To Go and He's Got You. Fantastic show, ...

Re: Elvis debuting new recording on 7" vinyl

Just in case anybody is still trying to track down a copy of the single, I saw about 20 copies on the shelf at Twist & Shout in Denver during my recent vacation. I just checked their website, and they do mail order and have the single listed for a price of $2.99.

Re: 'Lost Highway will release Momofuku from Elvis Costello'

TI'm particularly intrigued that Tennessee plays drums on so many tracks. Does that mean that there are two drummers, ala the Allman Bros. or Grateful Dead, or does Pete step aside on those tracks. Sounds incredibly interesting! Yep, double drums on the tracks Tennessee plays on. There's a picture ...

Sounds like either T-Bone produced Momofuku or maybe that new Coward Brothers album alluded to on the official website wasn't a complete joke after all.
