Re: APRIL 1 - NEW YORK SHOW - GRAMERCY THEATRE

I think the thing that would surprise the visitor from 1977 the most is the amount of loud guitar the modern-day Elvis plays. Those songs from Momofuku were noisier than anything he played in 77. Unfortunately I am not of fan of the loud guitar stuff. Give me the Tomorrow show performances of NLS a...

I am a BT fan and prefer his playing to DF. I also don't like the heavy bass mix that most of the Imposter based recordings have.

Have to disagree about the hats. It is not just a performance thing. EC is likes to buy and wear hats. I have the same problem.

Re: National Ransom - New Album Due Nov. 2

I am thinking the hat is custom. The crown looks to be about 4 1/2 inches creased with not much taper which is vintage like. I would like to see a side view of it though. The brim looks to be about 2 1/2 inches with a wide under welt. He is also wearing it brim up (no snap) which was common in the f...

Re: Elvis to Perform at McCartney White House Tribute

Sabreman, thank you for posting the sites- enjoyed them- am planning on ordering a Porkpie from the optimo site-agree a hat always looks good if properly fitted and maintained. That EC seems to enjoy them is for me a plus- a little extra color and panache never hurts- whether he is hiding a thinnin...

Re: Elvis to Perform at McCartney White House Tribute

I am a hat wearer and collector of mostly vintage hats. I disagree about him not looking good in hats. Just take a look at the vintage hats he wore around the time of Trust. IMHO it has to do with his current taste in hats (I do like the wide brim Homburg like straw). If he wants hats he should chec...

Bill Kirchen has been a fixture of the Washington, DC music scene for many years. We have had our share of telemasters including IMHO the greatest of all the late Danny Gatton.

Just mentioned on the Sean Hannity radio show and taking calls.

IMHO appears like a stupid move (scheduling and then canceling) on EC's part.

Costello eventually shut it down, and offered refunds to those who had paid money, or "credit" for the next version of the site that he promised would be better. (Like a fool, I opted to hold on to the credit, in the optimistic hope that there would be something better soon. I think that ...
