Having just returned from vacation and being buried at work, I was going to sit this one out. The addition of the horn section and a great deal on StubHub changed that. I’ll be there!

That Blue Look
Hamburg
I Walk on Broken Glass
Clown Around Time

Also played (apparently for only the second known time) was Like Licorice on Your Tongue

"Poisoned Rose" was just beautiful- getting to witness that just a few weeks after seeing him perform "Little Palaces" as the Gramercy really scratched my KoA itch. Nice! I would love for EC to do an Country/Americana-themed show were he exclusively plays selections from KofA, D...

Re: Elvis and the Imposters with Charlie Sexton, Wellmont Theatre, Montclair, - 26 February 2023

While many of us were hoping that the son of Montclair that Elvis was introducing on A Face in the Crowd was going to be Richard Thompson, Patrick Wilson did a great job in the spotlight. Agreed. User Eric Mischel on the wiki facebook group posted a great video in his "photo dump" post fr...

Re: Elvis and the Imposters with Charlie Sexton, Wellmont Theatre, Montclair, - 26 February 2023

Another thing about last night I'll add: EC's vocal delivery was very strong. That was very reassuring considering there was a show the prior night. As we all know, EC has particular problems with his lower register. Those problems were kept to a minimum last night (although that might have had some...

Re: Elvis and the Imposters with Charlie Sexton, Wellmont Theatre, Montclair, - 26 February 2023

Actor Patrick Wilson was in line in front of me at the will call window. Never heard of him. How was the show? Very fun show with a very appreciative crowd. Highlights for me were When I Was Cruel No.2, the Comedians, Lydon Johnson. Elvis was in a talkative mood. That actor I mentioned in my earlie...

Absolutely loved this show, which had so many highlights. I would love for EC to do full-album shows as his next conceit. Last night made me realize how much I'd love to see Delivery Many performed in full.

Connor R. reports: https://www.spin.com/2023/02/elvis-costello-gramercy-theater-night-six/ Thanks! This notes that Elvis mentioned Bruce Thomas between songs. Can anyone provide details of what was said? He was just referencing the Attractions by name and included Bruce. Nothing more… Ah, ok. I sup...

Re: Elvis & Steve Nieve GRAMERCY NYC February 16, 2023

I arrived in NY last night. A crazy 2.5 hour queue to get through passport control despite it being streamlined. Still had time to wander down to the Gramercy Theatre from the hotel and check if it actually was a 4 minute walk. Thankfully it is and, of course, the place was in darkness despite only...

Agree....oust the drunken oaf.  Surprised E didn't sic anyone on him or speak from the stage to shut him the fuck up. I would have been pissed if I was there last evening. At one point, EC did jokingly say that the guy from Everton should "shut the fuck up" but that only made...

These crowds have been great too, each and every night. Very appreciative and open-minded, and even people who don't know many of the songs are having a great time. You love to see it. I generally agree with you about the crowd but there was one glaring exception last night. I don't know if he is a...

I'm really hoping that the newly resurrected songs from the Gramercy run make their way into the Imposters' setlists for the coming tour dates.
