Girl out of Time I much prefer his live version of The Very Thought of You on the Chet Baker at Ronnie Scotts video (Hendring) . He does a slightly faster version that I love. If nobody has this video, they should try and pick up a copy. EC does a medley of You don't Know What Love is/The Very Thoug...

Elvis discovers cure for ageing and loses 10 years !!

The Doofmonkster found himself in the gym today. Nothing I like more than a quick double espresso and a read of the paper before I leave. However, the papers weren't delivered today and so I had a snoop in the pile of magazines on the table. Now, I have no interest in boby building mags and so i fou...

Good on you Spooks. For everyone who dislikes an EC song or album, there are 10 that disagree. Having said that, I don't really dislike KV, it's just not one of my personal favourites. Actually, it isn't last on my list. That honour would go to the Bill Frissell collaboration.

Gilli I have a great book called 'My Favourite Year' in which footie fans tell short stories about their teams best season. There is an hilarious account of an Irish pub during Italia 90, when the narrator becomes the hero simply by going to the loo at the right time. He talks about making sacrifice...

Interesting thread idea, but I never liked Jumpin Jive much and it killed off my interest in JJ until Laughter and Lust. KV was not much kop either and it way down my list of Elvis records. I would probably put it plumb last. I played it a little when it came out and there are a few nice efforst on ...

Spooky

Please be careful. Pictures like the one above could be used on porn sites. Somebody could superimpose breasts on LTZ and a giant penis on his friend. Its a sick and perverted world out there.

I'm with you LTZ. I never get apprehensive about a new EC album. I can honestly say that whilst some of his albums have less appeal than they used to (burn out), I have enjoyed all of them at the time they were released and have never been disappointed. Even GCW was great in the year I bought it as ...

I remember a couple of years back watching some TV Doc about the regeneration of Liverpool docklands. I was mildly interested as some architect was being interviewed whilst driving. However, I really pricked up my ears when I heard the car stereo playing.....Stalin Malone!!

girl out of time

you are quite right of course. But then again, the question was not "who is the best?"

It was "who do you like best". The three artists were chosen because they all sem to be very popular choices on the Towere of Song.

Sorry to take so long getting back to you on this Otis. The damn debug thing kept happening to me on the e mail thing, so I'm here instead.

I am interested, but I think I'm gonna have to leave it a while. Taxman to pay in July. £80 is a bit much for a casual fan though!

I think that your point to Sweet Pear regarding Psycho and Annie Hall also applies to Easy Rider and Groundhog Day, both of which were very big hit movies at the time. I'd say that commercially speaking, Groundhog Day was probably as commercially successful as Annie Hall.
