Thanks elvisisking63. I use all kinds of things. Word play is one I like to use after doing "Jabberwocky" with them - of course seguing into "I am the Walrus". I'm open to anything - as long as it is "school worthy". Because of that, much of Jim Morrison's stuff is out ...

EC Poetry

OK, esteemed collegues; I am an English teacher, and I love to play songs for my students during my poetry unit. I usually stick close to the Beatles to start, and then branch off. I listened to EC when he first came out, when I was DJing at my college radio station, but only have recently "red...

Wow, some interesting posts. I got the feeling seeing him in San Francsico on 3/11 that he was getting tired. His voice was a bit shaky, especially on the first few songs. He gave a great performance, but I could definitely see the difference between his presence at UCLA (3/4) and SF (3/11). He did ...

I have to disagree. It's like with Jimi Hendrix and "All Along the Watchtower". It is the definitive version, yes, but it is still Bob Dylan's song. Same with PLU - EC will forever be linked to it, but give credit where credit is due - to the writer.

Wow, I just found this forum...I went to the UCLA concert - my first EC concert, I'll admit. One reason I went was because I knew Royce Hall's acoustics were outstanding and the courtesy of the crowd during the softer numbers was nothing short of astounding. Well, except the Radio Radio guy, of cour...
