Re: Ross McManus

This isn't Ross in these adverts,it's a man called Julian Chagrin miming to a Ross & Elvis recording, Elvis appeared in an early version playing guitar. I have the original ad on a video with Elvis, even though Elvis has claimed in the past that it cannot be found. See: http://julianchagrin.blog...

Re: Elvis/Imposters, Huntington, NY , Sept. 30 '11

not that I'll ever get to see him live again. How so, Otis? Is it because you are in the UK? If so, I know what you mean. :( Exactly. Well I did see him 15 months back in Hyde Park with Sugarcanes, but it's over 6 since he toured with the Imposters, which is crazy. The Elvis 'pindrop' moments are a...

Nice cover of 'And Your Bird...'. Lovely red DW drum kit Pete's playing, not seen that one before. Has he played 'Sleep of the Just' before on this tour? I can't recall hearing it live ever, though I must have it on a bootleg or two. One of my top 5 (or 3?) Elvis songs. Would blow my mind to see hi...

I've always thought I Throw My Toys Around would sound great on Brutal Youth (given the album cover).

Re: Elvis Sings The Beatles

Nice call! I love those caustic, early Lennon songs. It's always surprising to find those records, which were so embraced by shrieking teeny-boppers, to so often strike such a jaundiced tone. As for EC covering the Beatles - they'd have to be very cannily-chosen numbers, because frankly I don't thin...

Re: Elvis Sings The Beatles

There is a tendency to think of Elvis doing McCartney ballads and Lennon rockers but I think it would be interesting to cover some of Lennon's early ballads: If I Fell, Ask Me Why, I'll Be Back. Having said that, Elvis could do a brilliant You Can't Do That. Nice call! I love those caustic, early L...

Elvis Sings The Beatles

Elvis has covered so many Beatles songs live, which tracks do you think would make a good studio album - with or without The Imposters.

I'll start with For No One.

Great question. I've always liked the sound of All This Useless Beauty and never been keen on Punch The Clock - too shrill to my ears.

Re: Constancy in an unsettling world-a favorite cover

This performance stopped me in my tracks and sent shivers up and down my spine. When Elvis does this kind of thing in concert, it makes my jaw drop. The quality of the video matches the song so beautifully - giving it a lovely haunting, wistful atmosphere. Thank you so much, Christopher, for bringin...
