Really love that. shows the melancholy (sadness? sympathy?) of the song that can get hidden under the bluster of the way it is often performed. he's not ironically mocking this year's girl but almost pleading with her to wake up.

Re: Elvis hints at new release: Lupe-O-Tone's vinyl singles

Really enjoy the bass playing on AT -- the bit i can hear on line. I used to love the days of going to a, what were they called? record stores? and finding by accident some new 12 inch something or other by elvis or other loves. now, instead, we get all this fooling around and weird postage matters ...

Re: A lengthy, detailed account of the DeTour shows.

This was a GREAT read, thanks. It really helped me make sense of e.c.'s path since 2010. it is good to see that he doesn't seem simply 'stuck' --things are moving...face in the crowd etc. Having re-read this, I need to say more. Having recently retired from a long career and felt something of the ar...

Re: NY Times - Interesting take on Elvis and Diana's relationship

I'm finding these interviews w. diana very, well, skewed and slightly disturbing. Not her. the questions and their pitch. reminds me of one of the roots of joni mitchell's anger w. the media. very odd. anyone else find these strange and a bit off-putting? Sexist, even?

Re: T-Bone / Dylan project: Lost On The River

wanted to add my thanks as well. I must say that I found the faked 1967 footage a bit of a waste of time but the rest! wow. could have watched hours and hours--listening to a melody eke itself out slowly, and shape right before your eyes. and p.s., i am madly in love w. t-bone burnett (more than bef...

Re: T-Bone / Dylan project: Lost On The River

and finally, someone on the hoffman board spotted this in the lyric sheet in the kansascity vid w. mumford: @ the 2 minute mark You tell me a thousand things a day And then sleep somewhere’s else at night I’m going back to Kansas City People don't care if you're black or white You invite me into you...

sorry if this has already been mentioned, but is there any word of plans to release this showtime thing? with second dvd of that performance, plus the animated vids for spanish, nothing to it, etc.?

Re: T-Bone / Dylan project: Lost On The River

oh this really is a lovely thing to see happening from the inside, and even just this little bit. I've been finding that ec's contributions simply stuck out at first, but now, the more I hear all these songs and versions, they are increasingly like an eccentric musical uncle at a musical family gath...

Re: T-Bone / Dylan project: Lost On The River

don't get showtime, but I really like all of the showtime clips of individual songs I saw, and the glimpse of t-bone in ec.'s hidee vid. Although they are varying quality, i like the animated vids for various songs that were done as well. I"m hoping that the showtime program and the animated vi...

love, too, how much e.c. himself seems to be enjoying the whole thing--that great thing w. ec's hidee ho joking that it has to be only one minute and 40 seconds, and then let's go and away they go. t-bone's barely audible comments in that brief vid are just lovely and relaxed
