Re: Guitar solo in Watching the Detectives.

Yes, in my haste to post I referenced the wrong song, it does appear in Clubland. Thanks for that correction bronxpostle, now are we the only people that have noticed? I don't think it's ever been mentioned before.

Guitar solo in Watching the Detectives.

Stop me if this has been mentioned before, but has anyone else remarked on Elvis playing a few bars of How Insensitive by Antionio Carlos Jobim when he solos during Watching the Detectives. I have noticed this a few times live and he did it again at Liverpool last week. Looking forward to Blackpool ...

Re: Elvis Costello and The Imposters Southend 27th June 2018 - postponed

I spoke to the Cliffs Pavilion box office this afternoon to see if there had been any progress regarding a rescheduled date and they said that it was "hoped" that arrangements would be concluded by the end of this week. Plus, they would prefer that new date to be within weeks rather than m...

Re: Elvis Costello and The Imposters Southend 27th June 2018 - postponed

I received a phone call from the Cliffs Pavilion this morning and they said they are looking to reschedule the date within the next few weeks. Having checked to see when the Cliffs has dates available in July it could be the 22nd, 29th, 30th or 31st.

When I saw Sharon Jones @ The Dap-Kings at the Roundhouse there was a mix of standing and seating, the pricing would indicate that this may be the case for Elvis.

Re: Elvis & The Imposters play Canterbury, 23 June '13

After Edinburgh and Southend I have yielded to temptation and bought a ticket for Canterbury. I have a question, is Elvis ok about signing posters etc after the gig? I have a poster from the miners benefit he played with Billy Bragg, The Men They Couldn't Hang and The South Wales Miners Choir back i...

Re: New album for 2013: "Wise Up Ghost" (with The Roots!)

Received the lastest issue of Mojo in the mail this morning which has a two page piece on "Wise Up Ghost", it has to be said that virtually nothing is revealed. Costello and Questlove won't say what the album sounds like, Questlove didn't want it to be seen as "Elvis's hip hop record&...

Two tickets for Southend in the balcony, I know Elvis will be standing for more than three hours but I need the comfort of a seat (row F / 5 & 4). And before my hometown date two tickets for the Festival Theatre Edinburgh in what they call the "Orchestra Stalls" (row H / 21 & 20). ...

Re: Elvis UK Tour 2013

The Cliffs Pavilion Southend has seating in a large balcony to the rear and boxes on the left and right of the hall, the downstairs seating is sometimes removed making it standing only. In 2009 I saw The Specials and Madness at the Cliffs and for both gigs the downstairs seating was removed. Having ...

Re: When was your first Elvis gig?

First time I saw EC was 1977 July 26th at Dingwalls in Camden Town, can't say I remember much about the gig now, it's a long time ago. Then there was a gap of nearly three years until I caught up with him again and that was at the Rainbow on the 29th September 1980, The Stray Cats were the support. ...
