Re: "Shut Him Down" - single by Michael Leonhart Orchestra, Elvis Costello & JSWISS

Here is the backstory: "Michael and Elvis first met in 2007 at the Molde Festival in Norway, where Costello and the late Allen Toussaint shared a double bill with Steely Dan (with whom Leonhart has played since 1996). The two kept in touch over the years, including joining forces in 2015 for a...

The free version is awful. If you pay, there’s none of that nonsense.

Re: 50 Songs For 50 Days - Elvis Costello's October Surprise

Spotify is amazing. I've used the premium version for about 5 years. Worth every bit of the $9.99/month.

(actually I pay $14.99/month for 4 separate accounts - the family plan)

I still buy some physical media, just to support the artists, but almost never listen to it.

Subtitles for The Royle Family ? Really? MOOT I've never seen the show, but we Americans have a tough time with accents. When I went to Scotland I needed translation help from my wife who was surrounded by Scottish relatives while growing up. I'm on season 4 of Better Call Saul right now and Bob Od...

Do you have a favorite EC concert?

I do and it's not even close. I've been going through my computer files during this extended concert-free period in my life, and was reminded of this: http://www.elviscostello.info/wiki/index.php/Concert_2013-09-16_New_York What a cool night. Wise Up Ghost was being released at midnight and we all g...

Re: Beacon Theatre, New York 22 April 2005

Okay....here we go! I have a 100 cdr spindle that i did use to stockpile all my EC recordings FROM SHOWS I ATTENDED. i would transfer from cassette to cd in the dark ages of digital audio....which meant at my home stereo system WITH NO COMPUTER PROGRAM to assist in the tracking or minor tweaks. Hen...

Okay, halfway there....i found the cassette! I think i have a cdr somewhere too. Give me another day or 2. Guess my tape flip jam was within the 45 minute mark of shows end. Horrible feeling for house lights to come up, and see your cassette at the beginning instead of at the end meaning you record...

Interview with Cait includes: You co-wrote about a handful of songs with Elvis Costello when you were with him, on albums like King of America , Blood & Chocolate , Spike and Mighty Like a Rose . Are any of those songs close to you or songs you’d like to perform? No. How much of a co-writer was...
