I only have ears for Elvis

I know from reading many of the posts that lots of you have a wide range of musical tastes. I find that over recent years, I listen to Elvis to the exclusion of almost any other music. Whatever sort of mood I am in there seems to be one of his albums that is just right for the occasion. About the on...

WhipsnSpurs, thought you might like to know that according to a radio interview that Elvis did last year, he used to have shared ownership in a racehorse called Stonehenge. He described it in a wonderfully untechnical way as a jumping horse. I gather that it was not very successful as he described it...

Hi cbartal,
sulky girl is absolutely right when she says that a chemist shop is a pharmacy or drug store. I have no idea what Elvis bought, I was just so surprised seeing him there.

Did anyone just see Elvis on Dead Ringers New Year Special. They were doing a scene in a chemist shop with an impressionist doing Ozzy Osborne. Unsuspecting members of the public came in and were on film then Elvis suddenly appeared. It didn't seem to be a celebrity appearance, it just seemed like h...

Hi Otis, thanks for the birthday wishes. It was Plaything's birthday today and mine yesterday. Actually I've just noticed its after midnight so make that yesterday and the day before.
It was good hearing him sing 'Emotional Ricochet'. I resisted the temptation to call out 'I'm over here'

I note a couple of people spotted Jo Brand at the concert. She is obviously quite a keen fan as I spotted her at an Elvis concert at the Royal Albert Hall about 4 or 5 years ago.

Sorry John, Plaything is definitely right in saying that ther was no performance of Indoor Fireworks. I didn't think it was included and just double checked with my husband who particularly likes that song and would have remembered it. I have been playing North in the car today. I wasn't that keen o...

Manchester concert

Not long been back from the Manchester concert. It was brilliant with a great mixture of songs. Elvis was in fine voice and the professor was superb. Elvis made a brave attempt at playing the piano. Not exactly his forte but entertaining nonetheless. One of the highlights for me was Shot With His Ow...

I think Plaything is correct in saying that EC lived in West Derby. I used to live there myself many years ago. I seem to recall hearing somewhere that the house with the Monkey Puzzle tree in the garden on the inside cover of Armed Forces was in Whinfell Road in the Sandfield Park area of West Derb...
