I'll be keeping it simple--tacos and margaritas. My mom made the hot sauce, so I'll be keeping it real, eses. 8)

Re: Random Thoughts

Last night I stepped off the subway right when an enormous f***ing rat ran past me on the platform. I screamed. I also froze, one foot on the train, one on the platform. People on the train looked at me strangely. "There's a rat..." I said weakly. Complete in my humiliation, I stepped off ...

I returned home from a two day trip to South Jersey to an empty apartment. The boyfriend is at his brother's Bar Mitzvah, and I have the place to myself until Tuesday! I've already skipped, run laps, and jumped on the bed. Now what?

"Try telling that to the desperate father who just squeezed the life from his only son" from "Tramp the Dirt Down" - makes me tear up every time I hear it Tramp the Dirt Down is a great one. I'm quite fond of the way he sings "I never thought for a moment that human life co...

Great question!

I also have to say "American Without Tears". I'm not English, but I did take up with a soldier boy. (He's out of the service now.) That song, and the sequel, both get to me every time I hear them.

Also, "New Amsterdam". I always feel bewildered.

Whoooo! I will be there, along with sister dutchess and boyfriend dutch. It's funny, because I first saw the thread about the Boston show on May 15. I was so disappointed, because I have a class that night, from 5 to 8 and I'm about 2.5 hours from Boston. So that made me sad. And then I saw this thr...

Such sharp-tongued wit. And such boldness as well. She was progressive when it wasn't popular, and said what often needed to be said. RIP, lady.

This song was based on a chance meeting with a couple of former G.I. brides during a tour of Florida. Whoops, Florida, my bad. Does he mean he fell in love with this woman? I always assumed he was singing from the point of view of an ex-husband of one of the ladies. But I never understood wh...

In the liner notes to the recent edition of "King of America" Elvis wrote about meeting two English ladies in New Orleans who had been WWII brides, and they inspired the song. When he played it at Wolf Trap in July 2005, I thought my head was going to explode from pure joy. Did he ever exp...
