Re: 'The Return Of The Spectacular Spinning Songbook', Nov.

Got my CD/DVD copy yesterday, blasting the CD now. For those of us who care, I think I've determined which songs come from which show. I Hope You're Happy Now, Heart Of The City, Mystery Dance, Radio Radio, God Give Me Strength, Watching The Detectives, Tear Off Your Own Head, Out Of Time and Stell...

Re: 'The Return Of The Spectacular Spinning Songbook', Nov.

Well, all set to watch the DVD at the weekend only to find that it was in the wrong Region Code for the UK. I am well HACKED off with Amazon for not stating this in their advert, waiting for them to call me. Overall, very pleased with the package, just need to get the DVD player sorted. Sometimes y...

Re: Elvis Costello - The Ultimate Gangster (complete show)

Does any FM boot have Shipbuilding complete? The version of "Ultimate Gangster" I have says that it's audience sourced. Not that I'm complaining but I would just like some info as to what is circulating and if there is a complete audience.

Momofuku would have been nice. But I would have liked to see a Ransom tour with mix of Imposters, Sugarcanes and the Brodsky Quartet. I know its a stretch but just thought I'd through that out.

Kid About It

How did WV get the rights to sell the flacs for this show which is a soundboard and not a King Biscuit broadcast? I think his management should investigate.

I don't know what your looking for but I try to update a live reference of what is available it is linked to wiki info. Just select the album for that tour and it should jump to the info.

If your looking for sources not on the wiki site use bootsdaily.com it is linked to popular trackers.

The sound is hit and miss but I judge more on performance. I don't think EC takes much consideration for sound otherwise he would have traveled with his own system early on. He focuses on song writing so I'll be satisfied with that.

So what's the best EC song to play to a youngster as a first experience ? I'd pick a song nowhere near my top 20 but New Lace Sleeves seems like a gentle introduction which contains all the classic Costello elements - though for Leah, probably (Grand) Daddy Can I Turn This ( Cassette over now ) ! :...
