I was at the show at Summerfest also and I thought it was great! We arrived about 3/4 of the way through Jackie Greene and we were lucky enough to get a picnic table to stand on to see the show. I thought that the horns added a lot to the show. Especially the old classics like (I Don't Want To Go To...

I've been gone for a while from this board, but the Summerfest news brought me back. I am excited that Elvis is playing Summerfest! Here is a little bit of info for you all on how Summerfest works: There is an admission to get into the Summerfest grounds. Not sure how much it is, but you can check t...

Besides Elvis:

Warren Zevon
John Hiatt
Squeeze
Over the Rhine
XTC (But I need to fill in a lot of stuff that is on LPs)

I have seen all of these live except XTC. Do they tour at all? I would love to see a Dukes of Stratosphere reunion album and tour....

However, the bonus disc has some great stuff, especially She Loves The jerk.

I have the original GBCW, which I seldom listen to, so no bonus disk... Is She Loves The Jerk the John Hiatt song???

What got me curious about Hiatt's earlier music was the fact that I didn't even know about his first 5 albums and the fact that he wrote the Three Dog Night classic Sure as I'm Sittin' Here. Quite often, a musicians early work is there best. I think I will Start off with Living a Little, Laughing a ...

I have Slow Turning on LP & CD. I love Sonny Landreth's guitar on that CD. Bring the family I have on LP, but not on CD yet.

Goody, didn't I read that you just got Crossing Muddy Watters? How do you like that one?

John Hiatt

I recently started replacing my John Hiatt LPs with CDs, and discovered that he has a lot of material out there that I am not familiar with. I don’t think that I have heard any of his stuff before Riding with the King, Warming up to the Ice Age, or Crossing Muddy Watters. I don’t own The Tiki Bar is...

I have never been able to appreciate KV like the rest of EC albums. I have tried to get into the CD, but it is just too hard to get into it. I don't think I should have to work that hard to enjoy a CD. Every time I play KV, I find myself skipping half of the songs. Five years from now, I may pop it ...

BG, I did not know that is a piano player... Thanks for the info. The only thing I know about Diana is that she is married to EC.

I think I may need to buy the new CD. I liked the preview on that page. Anyone have any recommended listening for Diana???

I thought it was a nice touch to have her thumbing through a book of sheet music and Oliver's Army is legible.

I like what she has done to the song vocally, but I like what Steve does with the piano work sooooo much more than Diana's piano player.

Not sure if strong is quite the word that I am looking for… But there is a trend that starts with Trust where the songs are normally slower and more soulful songs. I tend to like EC’s slower/soulful songs, so most of them are among my favorites on the album. World and His Wife and The Next Time Arou...

I noticed that EC often finishes up each album with strong songs, so I decided to mix my own CD with the last song off of each album. This does not include extended play songs. I am thinking about calling the CD The Last Time Around. I will have to re-record it when AB is released so that it can be ...

1 B&C
2 IB
3 KOA
4 MAIT
5 TYM

Can we take CDs that we burn? If so, I will take a CD that I just burned with the last song off of each album in place of TYM.

Blue, How about this formula: assign 15 points for a #1 vote, 14 for a #2, 13 for a #3... down to 1 point for a #15 vote. Add up the total points and the most points is # 1, 2nd most point #2 and so on. The only problem with this system is this: A song may not have any # 1 votes, but may have the mo...
