Re: Relatively Insignificant EC Stuff. . .

David Hepworth's new book Fabulous Creation about the rise and fall of the Long Player, opens the chapter on 1979 with the intro to accidents will happen. He talks a bit about Armed Forces. Elvis does get a couple of mentions previously in the book too.

VG I think Elvis was also the first person to play The Specials on the radio. I remember him playing gangsters on roundtable saying 'here a record I just bought today'

Re: Sounds of the 70s - Interview with Dave Robinson, BBC Radio 2, Feb. 2019

I am on the Facebook page for this show. Amazing there was a woman on there named Alison who said she didn't know there was a song named after her. Amazing to think there is a person of a certain age who had never heard Alison. Sunday amazingly there was two Elvis songs on UK radio Alison on this sh...

I think John might be right on Facebook yesterday. Elvis wont commit to anything after his mother's health scare last year. She must be well into her 90's now

Re: Spike: 30 years ago

I played Spike for the first time in years last week to coincide with the 30 year anniversary. I think it is a great album. I could probably live without chewing gum, Stalin Malone and pads paws and claws. As a couple have said it does suffer a little bit with the having to have filler on there to f...

Re: London meet up - Saturday 2nd February

He does send me quite a few 'football' related messages. the table is booked for 2pm. She said she would try and get us a table with a view of the TV in case we were interested in watching the rugby. I must admit I forgot it was on. I said we would probably be to engrossed in our sparkling conversat...

Re: 'He's Given Me Things'

There is a school of thought that sometimes if you ask Elvis to sing a song at a gig you are going to he will perform it. I asked for Shot with his own gun before one of the palladium shows and he performed it. Myself and VG looked at each other from across the hall in 'wow maybe he does read it' An...

When he hits the falsetto on Suspect my tears I get all goosebumpy. I think I have just made a word up.
I have been waiting with baited breath for Neil.'s review and he didn't disappoint. And I agree with him on the whole. the david bowie boxset has sort of got in the way of me listening to LOOK NOW.
