Costello will perform his full-length orchestral work Il Sogno - which combines classical and jazz styles - during the first half of the concert. This quote is taken from the BBC story. Presumably, what they really mean is that an orchestra will perform Il Sogno while our man Elvis sits in the fron...

BBC South West just had a live report and an interview with Michael Eavis. The reporter complained that the background noise was deafening - I didn't mind it as it was "Less Than Zero".

I saw Elvis play the Glasgow Pavilion in April 1989 as part of the solo tour, with Nick Lowe supporting. This was the famous night when arsenal pinched the league from Liverpool at Anfield thanks to two late goals. Thankfully, there was no messing about that night and he played a terrific set with h...

I shouldn't be greedy after that great show at Edinburgh, but I would have loved to hear "King Horse", "Big Tears" and "I Can't Stand Up" last week.

And "God Give Me Strength", "High Fidelity" etc etc.

That man has written so many damn fine tunes!

It was a tremendous show and Elvis and the band were in fantastic form (and voice). I don't have a setlist as I was too busy enjoying the show but they played straight through for just under 2.5 hours. Highlights for me were the opening Blue Chair, You Bowed Down, the songs from North and In the Dar...

Pictures (and brief review) of Edinburgh Show

Just a few pics from the show tonight. I committed a schoolboy error and took a battery that was nearly used up... http://www.acciesworld.com/pictures/Elvis_Edinburgh_140205/Elvis_Edinburgh_140205a.jpg http://www.acciesworld.com/pictures/Elvis_Edinburgh_140205/Elvis_Edinburgh_140205b.jpg http://www....

Photography at the show tonight...

At tonight's Edinburgh show, I've got a cracking seat in the third row of the stalls. I could take along my 4 mega pixel camera but would appreciate guidance on this. I don't want to use the flash as that would irritate the band and audience, but are the pictures likely to be worthwhile without it? ...

Looks great.
Please don't shout at me, but how do you download a torrent?
I did do this before at some point, but cannot recall the procedure involved even though I have previously registered at that website.

Thanks

My account page at Play.com says they are awaiting stock, while a general enquiry reveals that it is not currently available.

To quote from that review...
There's a nice little wank going into the second verse, and those of you who were worried about wanking on the album don't have a lot to fear.
Um, does the word "wank" mean the same thing in the US that it does in the UK?

I have to confess that I downloaded the "North" songs a month in advance and then burned them to CD in the correct order. I also bought the proper CD when it came out, but the "pirate" version has all the bonus songs and "North" itself, so for completeness it is probabl...

Really Bad News - The UK Tour is 1 Night only!

Today's Sunday Mail newspaper in Scotland has an advert for the show at Glasgow Barrowlands on 6th October.

The advert states that this is the ONLY WORLD SHOW (except Memphis)

I'd better get that ticket sharpish.

Don't forget that when Ryanair say Glasgow, they really mean Prestwick, which is 30 miles away!

Anyway, what's the story with the 6pm start?
Do they really mean about 8.45 as usual?

I DID download "North" and enjoyed having a sneak preview. But it meant that the moment of excitement at settling down with the new record was definitely lost. (And I did buy the official release too!) I will therefore wait until the new record hits the shops sometime this autumn. And then...

I don't have the bootleg but was at the show. My girlfriend of the time really didn't like the show but I thought it was fine. (Despite the Afrodiziak singers wearing silly plastic raincoats, I seem to remember.) Anyway, it was held at Tiffany's on Sauchiehall St, not the Locarno. And I kept the gir...

Time to get the plastic out, I think.

Incidentally, HMV is selling "North" for £17.99!!!!!
This works out at just over $33 for our American friends.

Somehow I don't think Deutsche Grammophon will recruit many casual shoppers this way.
