Misha Meets Davey and Pete

Post by Misha »

I think this qualifies for the EC Forum...you decide..

Went to Randy Newman thing tonight.....Davey and Pete both performed. Met both after the show.

Camera batteries dead....hate Olympus.

Got autographs from both.

Davey says they both live in LA, as I was pondering if they were recording while here. Also, they are both in the band Jackshit, which is performing at a place called the Baked Potato on 02/18 in LA. Says we should go...we probably will.

(Also in Jackshit is a guitarist named Val McCallum-and Pete)

Tried camera, battery dead...Davey nice anyway....Incredibly nice.

Pete....asked him if they would be recording soon with EC and he smiled and had a twinkle in his eye and nodded...no real answer there, but it seemed clear.

I ASKED IF IT WAS A ROCKIN' ALBUM----HE SAID...."OH YEAH, IT'S ROCKIN". Looked really happy.

We told him that we would see him at the HOB, he said, "What? Why?" I told him he was playing there with Elvis on the 4th....news to him, but his wife (I assume) knew about it. Told him about AMEX b.s....he knew nothing about it, but figures if it is charity and they are paying the tab they can do what they want, but did use the words, "That's fucked." He asked what charity it was for and I described it a bit for him....he was happy. But, again, knew nothing about it.

He asked us if we were going to his gig for Jackshit, told him Davey told us about it. Said they were going to do a second album, told him I didn't know of the first...he said hang on, I have one in the car....he did and gave it to me...I offered to pay, he wouldn't take it. New personal favorite band members are Davey and Pete....

So, your emmissary has found out at least a little bit for ya!!

Now listening to Jackshit....

GO MISHA! How cool. Too bad for the camera batteries.

A girl should always have extra batteries.

I don't know about Dave, but Pete is clearly recognized at one of the best of the best in his craft as a rock and roll drummer. Same breath as Keith Moon? I think so, although that gets a bit close to rock and roll religion, so some might challenge that call.

It sounds like a great evening.

Did Randy Newman's performance highlight these guys as more than sessions players? Did he open things up?

Speaking on behalf of myself...I'm really damned happy!!

Spooky G......I agree with the batteries, and have solved the mystery....roommate had unplugged charger.....boo boo...will rectify photo situation on 18th!!

Did it let Davey and Pete go a rockin? Not really...only on the one song that Jackshit did together...you could tell they were having fun. It was more about the singing and lyrics...

I actually think they get more musical exercise with Elvis....

You can get a copy of the Jackshit album here:

http://www.evangeline.co.uk/

I'm actually enjoying it.....(roommate is stunned)

Following Bobster, due to time differences, today is Misha Day in the UK forum.

And as Davey and Pete are your new faves, you won't have to worry about fighting the other girls for Steve!

Great work Misha.

way to go, intrepid girl reporter!!!

(and big ups to mr. martinfoyle and his clairvoyant abilities!)

I think there's gonna be a scuffle over Pete, unless we all maintain separate time zones.

Well MS,

Since Pete lives in my time zone, I'm stayin here!!!

Anyone else notice that Davey looks completely different in person? On stage, he looks a big tubby,, not a lot, just a wee bit.

In person, he is hot. A tasy morsel....

Pete, completely nice and unassuming....friendly, just downright friendly....

You can put me back on the scoop list...I'm trying at HOB and Jackshit and anywhere else I possibly can....I'm bound and determined to find something more tangible out......I'm worried I was hallucinating. My roommate confirms story....maybe it was a mass hallucination....but where the hell did the cowboy hats come from?

:D
