Vanaf 25 maart ligt zijn nieuwe verzamelalbum in Nederland in de winkel, Pomp & Pout - The Universal Years genaamd.

TIckets already available!! http://www.de-oosterpoort.nl/programma/ ... tello-solo

This date and the date in Amsterdam are billed as Solo shows. It seems possible that the European tour this year will be solo shows only :-( , unless he decided to ask the Brodskys to join him for some of the UK dates?

What seems a little odd to me is the choice of the theaters. They are small and intimate. Only about 1.000 seats.
Elvis could easily play in bigger and more prestigious theatres, like The Carré (Amsterdam) or De Doelen (Rotterdam).
I think there is still a change of an European tour with the Imposters in the summer.

Note to Elvis - I hope to be in Nice, France on Nov. 18-19 '11 so , if you're not playing Dublin or the U.K. , a show there on one of those dates would do just grand!

This may be an indication of some bold , new thinking by Elvis. Perhaps he's thinking that these will be shows for the few thoughtful, respectful Europeans who still follow him. They'll gladly sit back while he does a set of brand new songs, some in Halkomelem , a language of the First Nations peoples of southeastern Vancouver Island , Elvis' primary residence.
It'll be an exercise that Elvis will be well able to afford . He'll have spent the first half of the year doing lucrative shows with the Imposters, bashing out pub rock fare for balding beer guzzlers who'll spend most of the show shouting out for 'Alison' and wobbling their way to the restroom.

Or maybe not.

The day before yesterday Larkin Poe guitarist Rick Lollar tweeted:
Off to Amsterdam tomorrow for a week of shows in Holland and Belgium opening for and playing with Elvis Costello. #GratefulToBeHere

Fab!

From reading the setlists, and particularly Berlin, I think Elvis has warmed up now and is ready for the shows to properly begin!

I look forward to seeing this in Amsterdam. No doubt different songs will be added each night.

This has added even more anticipation.
